CHILD HEALTH SURVEILLANCE

The health visitors and doctors’ work together to provide this service, appointments will be sent directly to the patients for the initial screening and first immunisations

MATERNITY SERVICES

Full pre-conception, antenatal and postnatal care is offered, in conjunction with a team of midwives allocated to our practice from Cresswell Maternity Wing.

The main antenatal clinic is on Thursday 2.00 – 4.15 p.m.  Appointments for pre-conceptual advice may be booked with the Practice Nurses. 

 

ASTHMA CLINIC

Tuesday 2.00 – 5.30 p.m. twice monthly       Doctor & Nurse Practitioner in attendance

 

NEW PATIENT CHECK UP

Monday – Friday a.m. & p.m.                       Nurse/Health Care Assistant 

 

 

TRAVEL VACCINATIONS

Holiday vaccinations are provided by appointment with the practice nurse. This should be commenced at least 6-8 weeks before going on holiday and it will take at least one week for a program of vaccinations to be worked out. In some cases holiday immunisations are out-with the scope of the NHS and a fee will be payable.

 

SERVICES FOR THE ELDERLY

If you are aged 75 years or over we offer an annual consultation. This can be done at the surgery or in your own home if you are housebound. Please contact the surgery for details.

 

FLU VACCINATIONS

Flu vaccinations are available from October for those patients at special risk (see list below), those over 65 years of age, and those living in long-stay residential/nursing homes or other long-stay facilities. Please contact the reception (01387 267626) to make your appointment.

  • Chronic respiratory disease, including asthma
  • Chronic heart disease
  • Chronic renal disease
  • Immunosuppression due to disease or treatment
  • Diabetes mellitus
  • Chronic liver disease
  • Carers of patients with any of the above
